When to send it—and what to reveal
Send the first invitation two to four weeks ahead for an ordinary dinner, and earlier for travel, a hens weekend or a venue booking. Reveal the overall theme and costume effort immediately. Keep private motives, secrets and character-specific information separate so the game can assign the correct details after the guest list is confirmed.
Write an RSVP line that protects the game
Ask for a firm reply by a specific date and explain that every guest receives a role. If someone may cancel, request early notice. Fixed-role games may require a replacement or reassignment, while flexible games may allow the host to change the player count before starting.

How invitations work with Murder At Mine
For Murder At Mine, send the practical invitation first and confirm a group of 4–10 players. Ask each guest to bring a charged iOS or Android phone. When the host creates the game, guests join with a personal code and receive their private character information in the app.
